Scottish Apprenticeship Week

Recently the company has employed a number of apprentices under the Modern Apprenticeship Programme.  The aim of the programme is to raise the skill levels of the workforce by providing existing employees and new recruits with training and accreditation to industry recognised standards.  Hawick Knitwear currently have 17 employees working towards their qualification.  This week celebrates the workers and employers in the textile industry.

Shop Window Competition - Winners

We recently ran a Shop Window Competition; open to all UK Stockists of Hawick Knitwear products with £1,750 worth of Hawick Knitwear products being given away.  The competition ran for six weeks and we had a great response from retailers with many creative and innovative entries  Most entrants also reported a higher sell-through of products so a true win-win situation.

The top prize of £1000 worth of Hawick Knitwear product went to MacNaughtons of Pitlochry with second prize of £500 worth of product going to Eric Spencer of Ilkley and third prize of £250 worth of product going to McGrath’s of Peebles.

The competition has sparked a great deal of interest amongst Hawick Knitwear’s customers and is something we’ll consider running again.

Merit prizes were offered to another nine entrants; a sweater of their choice from the comprehensive Stock Service, up to the value of £60.

 

Best Sell-Through Brand
